This weekend we will be reverting our attention back to league football. Resuming fixtures throughout the English League, we at Footy Tips Today have tipped fixtures in which we reckon both teams are more than likely to score. Our featured games come from the Championship and League One.
The games are as follows:
Our first game is from the Championship. Millwall travel to Griffin Park as Brentford hosts the match-up. The Bees are currently in 19th place with only nine points but are unbeaten in four, drawing three of those games. Dean Smith’s side have scored 13 and conceded 15 goals. They have actually scored in their last six matches meaning they at least have been getting on the scoresheet. Millwall are in 14th place on 13 points and lost recently, 3-1 to Barnsley. They have seen a total of 27 goals in their fixtures and they have managed to score in four of their last five matches.
With both sides pushing to aim higher in the table, we believe that both Brentford and Millwall will score on Saturday.
Staying with the Championship, Ipswich Town travel to Bramall Lane. Sheffield United have started their campaign excellently. They are still third despite the recent 2-1 loss to Nottingham Forest. Chris Wilder’s side have scored in eight of their eleven games and in their last three games. They are not short of goalscoring quality with the likes of Leon Clarke and Billy Sharp. Ipswich are currently eighth but are joint-second in top scorers within the league, scoring 20 goals. Even if they have lost three of their last five games, Mick McCarthy’s side have managed to bag eight goals within those five matches. The Tractor Boys have only failed to score in one league game this season.
We are backing Sheffield United and Ipswich as both teams to score due to a number of goals they have both been scoring. They have been consistent in getting on the score sheet.
Our final game comes from League One. This fixture takes place at the Memorial Stadium. Oxford travel to Bristol on Saturday. Bristol Rovers are 12th with 18 points and three wins in their last five games. In total, their matches have included a whopping 46 goals. That’s an average of three goals per game. Oxford United are tenth with 18 points and have only won two of their last five games. However, the U’s have scored nine in those five matches. That now means in their 12 games played, Oxford have scored 21 and let in 14. Averaging just under three goals per game. You can see why we have picked this as our final choice.
Tipping Bristol Rovers and Oxford as both teams to score, we will be taking into account the consistency of both sides scoring so far this season as well as amount of goals scored.
