With the Summer nearly over we have witnessed record-breaking deals this year. Two recent signings broke the £100m barrier. Most recently, Ousmane Dembele was bought by Barcelona for around £135m after they sold Neymar Jr. to PSG for around £206m. So what about Kylian Mbappe?
This is a subject many of us have been wondering about since the end of last season. French champions Monaco have been selling their best players but they have been receiving incredible amounts of money.
Man City bought Bernardo Silva for around £43m. Tiemoue Bakayoko was sold to Chelsea for a fee of around £40m. Man City also bought Monaco’s, Benjamin Mendy. The transfer fee agreed was £52m. Receiving £135m for three players is not bad business at all by the French club.
At just 18, Kylian Mbappe is seen as one of the most talented footballers in the world right now. Appearing at the highest level of the French football league and even performing well at Champions League level. PSG have become one of the wealthiest clubs around and are calling for Mbappe’s name right now.
Some fans have even compared Mbappe’s abilities to that of Thierry Henry. He has even appeared at International level for France already too. The five-foot-ten striker scored 15 Ligue 1 goals last season in 29 appearances. It’s not very often you can say an 18-year-old can score 15 goals in a top flight league in Europe.
With a potential move to PSG likely on the cards, what would the supposed deal entail? Well, considering the deal would have to be major, it could take time to process. Although both clubs have agreed on terms it isn’t official yet. The deal would be an initial one-year-loan with an option to buy him for £166m next season.
So could this actually be a good move? For PSG, it is a fantastic business move from them. Just think that due to the deal being a loan, it will bring in much income due to shirt sales and other revenue. By the time next season comes around, PSG will have pretty much profited what they would have to pay for Mbappe.
As for Mbappe’s future, it is vital that he makes the right decision. If he makes the move to PSG he will be playing alongside Neymar Jr, Dani Alves and Edinson Cavani to name a few. They are starting to bring in younger players which is exactly what Monaco did and it earned them the Ligue 1 title last season.
PSG boss Unai Emery knows what he has to do if he wants Mbappe at his club and he will try his best to sway him to PSG. With everything going on behind closed doors we cannot say what is actually happening but we are certain the season-long-loan deal is pretty much imminent.
If the deal does go through it would help PSG in their quest to become Ligue 1 champions. A few punters will be finding out the latest betting tips on who are favourites to become Ligue 1 champions this season.
The only plus side they will get out of it is a big lump sum next summer. That is if PSG still want him next season. In conclusion, this would be a ‘super deal’ if PSG loan Kylian Mbappe.
