Eden Hazard still a target for Real Madrid next Summer
This season, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has truly set the Premier League alight with a run of fantastic performances for Manchester United. However, despite the Swede being one of the most feared strikers within the league, Zlatan will be turning 36 this year and time will inevitably catch up with the towering striker. Manchester United are heavily reliant on the services of the powerful Swede, as 38% of all the Red Devil’s goals in the league come from Zlatan himself.
Therefore, who is capable of replacing the Swedish hero?
Another player who has excelled within the Premier League this season is none other than Harry Kane. The Tottenham striker has scored 65 goals for the North London club within the last three seasons, with 19 goals this campaign with 11 games still to be played. On these stats alone, Kane has averaged 21 goals a season. If Kane manages to maintain this goal average throughout his career, it’s likely that we will see the Englishman overtake Alan Shearer for the most goals scored within Premier League history.
Marcus Rashford is another exciting and young English talent who could possibly be a key candidate of replacing Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Despite Rashford scoring far less goals than Kane this season with only seven goals in the Premier League, he still shows plenty of promise. Additionally, Rashford at the age of 19 is on the verge of cementing a starting position within the Manchester United first team, whereas Harry Kane was out on loan at Leyton Orient who were in League One at the time.
Swedish wonderkid Alexander Isak is a 17 year old prodigy who has recently signed for Borrussia Dortmund. The young striker stands at 6”3 with a playing style very similar to of Zlatan himself. Isak made a name for himself at AIK Stockholm where he scored 10 goals in 24 games which attracted the interest of BVB. However, Isak is yet to feature for Dortmund therefore he has not yet been proven on the larger stage.
Zlatan has taken the decision to extend his contract until the summer of 2018. Therefore, Manchester United have some time to decide who will replace the influential Swede who has helped the Red Devils go on a magnificent unbeaten since October 2016. The best unbeaten run in Europe.
