In the latest injury blow to Jack Wilshere, the Englishman suffered a hairline fracture to his left fibula and has been ruled out for the season. The injury was sustained after a clash with Harry Kane when Bournemouth played Tottenham in the Premier League. Wilshere has had a series of long-term injuries with this being the latest. The midfielder, who is on loan from Arsenal to Bournemouth, is expected to return to London Colney to work on rehabilitation.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that Wilshere will not require surgery and could be back for the beginning of next season. He was, however, coy on the prospect of contract negotiations with the midfielder.
Wilshere broke onto the scene in 2008 with a host of dominant midfield performances as a 19 year old for Arsenal. His most notable performance being Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Barcelona in 2011.
