Slaven Bilic revives a bit of faith at West Ham United
A game marred by controversy between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich ended in a 4-2 victory for the Spanish side. The game was overshadowed by a flurry of poor decisions by referee Viktor Kassai
Madrid went into the home leg of the tie leading 2-1 on aggregate. Los Blancos also had 2 precious away goals to count for. Bayern took the lead through Robert Lewandowski’s well taken penalty making it 2-2 on aggregate. Ronaldo equalized in the 76th minute before Sergio Ramos scored an own goal a minute later. The game changed when Arturo Vidal was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 84th minute. Replays showed that Vidal clearly made contact with the ball and that the decision from the referee was an incorrect one.
The momentum was on Madrid’s side as the game went into extra time. Madrid’s second was scored by Ronaldo who was clearly in an offside position. This left Ancelotti furious as Lewandowski’s goal earlier was ruled out as offside when he actually wasn’t. Ronaldo completed the perfect hat-trick when he tapped in his third following some brilliant work from Marcelo. Marcos Asensio added a fourth later on to seal the victory for the Champions League holders.
