This weekend introduces us back to the International break. But for League One and League Two they carry on their fixtures like normal. We at Football Tips Today have picked out three key games finding likely returning bets.
Back Charlton to beat Oldham – Evens with SkyBet
Our first game comes from League One. With four games played, League One is showing a 12 point gap between top and bottom already. Two teams yet to win a single point include one of our first teams, Oldham.
Finishing 17th last season, Oldham are already struggling with only four games played this season. John Sheridan’s side have only managed to score two goals letting in eight. Four straight losses so far and second from bottom is not a good sign for the Latics.
Charlton have started off quite brightly this campaign as they have won three out of four matches. Currently sitting on nine points they are hovering around the playoff places although it is too early to read into that. They have scored seven goals and let in three so far averaging a conceding of less that one goal a game.
Due to Oldham’s poor form, we are backing a Charlton to win this game.
Back Peterborough to beat Doncaster – 2/1 with Paddy Power
Our second pick also comes from League One. Doncaster welcome Peterborough at the Keepmoat Stadium. Doncaster were recently promoted from League Two last season and haven’t had the worst of starts.
Five points from four games for Darren Ferguson’s side isn’t all bad. Their only win came away to Blackburn but they haven’t won since then. Draws against Blackpool, Gillingham and Burton show they aren’t an easy side to play against as they have scored six times and have also let in six goals.
Peterborough are the only team in League One to maintain a 100% record this season. Four wins from four for Grant McCann’s side already means they are top of the table. Forward, Jack Marriott already has six goals in four games meaning he is the main goal threat for Doncaster this weekend. We believe the striker will be first to score in this match-up.
We believe this game will end up with Peterborough taking the three points.
Back Crewe to beat Grimsby – 19/10 with William Hill
Our final pick is from League Two. Grimsby host Crewe at Blundell Park on Saturday afternoon.
Grimsby have so far only managed one win. With three points and three losses in a row, the momentum isn’t going to be favouring the Mariners. They have conceded nine times and scored six themselves. They will be hoping to do better than their previous finish of 14th last season.
Crewe have had a pretty good start as of late. Despite only scoring five goals they have only let in three. Two wins and two draws leave them on eight points. Chris Porter is their top scorer with three goals so far.
We are tipping a Crewe victory in this game.
