With September nearly out of the way, there has been much going on in the English leagues lately. We at Footy Tips Today have picked out three fixtures which we believe will end up with goals at each end of the pitch.
Back both Ipswich Town and Bristol City as BTTS – 8/11 with Betfair
Our first game comes from the Championship. Ipswich Town who are in fifth place have 18 points from nine games. Their last game was a 5-2 home win over Sunderland. Mick McCarthy’s side have now tallied 19 goals scored. From all of their fixtures so far there has been 32 goals overall. There has also been an average of over three goals in their home fixtures as well.
Having played ten games, Bristol City are in seventh place. Lee Johnson’s side have amounted 17 points and recently won 2-0 at home against Bolton. Unbeaten in eight games the Robins now total 17 goals scored. Bagging 27 goals so far in their first 10 games this season gives us more reason to choose this fixture in our feature this week.
We are backing both Ipswich Town and Bristol City to score as both sides have already seen more than enough goals in fixtures already played.
Back Portsmouth and Oldham Athletic as BTTS – 10/11 with Bet365
Portsmouth are currently 11th in League One after ten games. With 14 points Kenny Jackett won’t be too displeased with their season so far. A recent 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers will have the Pompey fans in good spirits right now. Their last two home games have seen eight goals meaning this next fixture might see plenty of action.
Oldham may be 23rd but they have been fighting quite hard. Two wins from their last five games mean they do have quality in their side. Their only problem is the defence. Leaking 25 goals already, the Latics have also scored a fair few. A total of 15 from their ten games. From their past five games played there has been a total of 23 goals.
There is no question why we have picked this fixture as our second choice of Portsmouth and Oldham both to score this weekend.
Back Wycombe Wanderers and Barnet as BTTS – 4/6 with Betway
Delving into League Two we now look at a fixture that takes place at Adams Park. Wycombe Wanderers are currently eight after ten games with 18 points. Unbeaten in two games, the Chairboys have also won those fixtures. They’ve seen an average of 3.5 goals per game this season and eleven of them have been scored in the past three matches.
Positioned in 15th place, Barnet haven’t won in four games. That being said, the Bees have seen both sides score in their past six, League Two fixtures. Ten goals in their past three away games means there has been plenty of action so far. This fixture certainly sums up to be a goal fest on Saturday.
Even with Barnet on a poor run, they are still bagging goals. Playing at Fratton Park you would also expect Portsmouth to grab a couple which is why we are backing both teams to score.
Back our treble of Ipswich and Bristol City, Portsmouth and Oldham and Wycombe and Barnet as BTTS to receive odds of 5.3/1 with William Hill.
