Middlesbrough v Manchester City: Pre-Match Betting Analysis:
Pressure is growing on Boro boss Aitor Karanka, Middlesbrough have won just 3 of their last 13 games, with all 3 of those wins coming in the FA Cup. Scoring goals has been a problem for Boro this season, they have fired blank in 5 of their last 13 home matches and are the lowest scorers in the Premier League. Despite this, Middlesbrough remain in the FA Cup and are a game away from a Wembley Semi-Final. Alvaro Negredo will lead the line against his former club.
Fixtures have come thick and fast of late for Man City, they hosted Stoke on Wednesday in a bore draw and there is no doubt Pep Guardiola will have one eye on Wednesday’s Champions League second leg away at Monaco. City’s performance’s have improved in recent weeks and are 10 games unbeaten, they have looked more solid at the back while Guardiola has settled on his midfield and a front 3. Due to their busy schedule, it is possible Guardiola will make changes here but given they rotated against Stoke, they are likely to go relatively strong.
Middlesbrough games are notoriously cagey affairs with, 6 of their last 7 have had Under 2.5 goals and although City will have the likes of Sterling and Silva on show, Sane, Aguero, De Bruyne and Toure may be left out. At odds against, I think Under 2.5 goals is a worthy bet.
