Millwall v Leicester City: Pre-Match Analysis

Millwall v Leicester City: Pre-Match Analysis

Millwall are 12 games unbeaten, winning each of their last 3 games, conceding just 1 goal in their last 8. Neil Harris’ men have won 7 of their last 8 home games, keeping 6 clean sheets in that period including 5 in their last 5 at The Den. Millwall have already beaten Premier League opposition twice in the FA Cup this season, beating Bournemouth and Watford without conceding a goal. Millwall started fast against Watford and if it wasn’t for the woodwork and some good saves by substitute Heurelho Gomes, they would have won by more than the single goal. Millwall play with 2 up top, the experienced Steve Morison has caused problems in the FA Cup so far, backing into defenders and feeding top goalscorer Lee Gregory who will look to play on the shoulder. Shaun Williams provides quality in midfield and will return after missing last weekend’s win due to the birth of his child. Millwall are hopeful energetic midfielder Ben Thompson and the aforementioned Lee Gregory will be available after injury. Millwall are 2/1 to win and are 7/2 to win to nil, I fancy Millwall here and so will take the 2/1. Lee Gregory is 19/10 to score anytime while his strike partner Steve Morison is 9/4 to find the back of the net.

Leicester come into this game losing 5 of their last 7 and with manager Claudio Ranieri under pressure. Leicester travel to Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday and it likely Ranieri will have an eye on that. He made 10 changes in the 4th round replay extra time victory against a weakened Derby team and so it is possible changes will be made again here. All of Leicester’s FA Cup games so far this season have seen both teams score, it is 19/20 for that to be the case here. Leicester are best priced at 21/10 to win in 90 minutes, a draw can be backed at 23/10 but I like the price of Millwall and will take a punt on them at 2/1.
